
How long are the Canine Cookies good for?
All of our cookies are baked and then dehydrated to ensure that they are shelf stable for at least 1 year. They should be stored in the bag provided and kept in a cool, dry, dark area of your home (or your dog’s belly!)
There's a date on the bottom of my bag, what is it?
Good Question! This is the package date, so these cookies are good for at least 1 year from the date on the bottom. Our dates are Month (written in 3 letters, JAN, FEB, SEP, etc), 2 digits for the day (01, 14, 31), and 4 digits for the year (2024).
I received a bandana, but it doesn't fit!
Our bandanas are sewn by us, and we have done them in two sizes: Small and Large. The Small fit a neck up to 16" and the Large will fit necks up to 22". However, the small can also fit X-small, and the Large can fit a medium neck by looping the ends as if you're going to tie a bow, but then snapping it closed instead of tying a bow.
Can I cancel my subscription?
While we would hate to see you go, Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time by emailing us. You can always re-subscribe at any time, however if you have a coupon/deal, it will expire when you cancel your subscription.
Cancellation requests must be received 15 days before the billing date (1st of the month) or you will be charged for the following month.
When can I expect to receive my SnaxBox?
Your payment will be processed on the 1st of each month that you are subscribed. SnaxBoxes will be packed and ready for pick up/shipping within 10 business days (however, sometimes that happens sooner).
If you sign up after the 1st of the month, your payment will be collected within 1-3 business days, and then all payments will be processed on the 1st of each month thereafter.
I live out of town, can my SnaxBox be shipped?
Yes! We can ship Canada-Wide for an additional fee (see shipping page for further information). You can choose shipping or pick up when checking out.
Local Pick up has two options for you to pick up. One in Lake Cowichan, and one in Nanaimo. Pick up address and instructions will be included in your email when you order is ready for pick up.
I would like to order a SnaxBox for a friend or relative, can I do this?
Yes!! We love sharing treats and cookies! If you would like it shipped to a different address than the billing address, please include this in the notes when checking out! Thanks for sharing!
Can I choose what is in my SnaxBox?
While we do have options for size and for allergies, we do not have an option for you to choose what goes in the box. We do not include toys as they are subjective as all dogs treat their toys differently and have different likes. We include different Useful Products in the SnaxBox that are all created by us. If you select you have a small dog, you will receive small dog products when there is a size for that month, if you select large , then you will receive a large dog product. If you need to change this, please contact us to do so.
Our boxes are always packaged around allergies though; even a human allergy in the house. We just have to know what those allergies are.

Do you use Chicken?
Nope! Never! Most dogs are actually allergic to chicken, so all of our treats are chicken-free! Up to 15% of dogs with food allergies react to chicken, and approximately 80% of dogs have some form of chicken sensitivity. It is one of the top three canine allergens. Dogs with chicken allergies can experience itchy skin, ear infections, digestive issues, and hot spots. This is why we never use chicken in our treats - just wholesome, high-quality, and allergy-friendly ingredients your dog will love!.
My dog can't have any animal proteins and is on a hydrolyzed protein diet. Do you have any treats that will suit this diet?
Yes!!! At Canine Cavalry, we specialize in alternative dietary options for dogs with sensitivities - because we believe all dogs should have access to high-quality treats. We offer plant-based, hypoallergenic treats that contain no animal proteins, dairy or common allergens. Our treats are made with wholesome, human-grade ingredients like: gluten-free oats, hemp hearts, flaxseed, coconut, chia seeds, etc. All of our ingredients are listed with each treat. If your dog has specific dietary restrictions, feel free to reach out to us - we are always happy to help you find the best option!
I see you have an Ambassador Program, are these information sessions free?
Yes! Our Ambassador Program sessions are completely free for school locations in Nanaimo. If you're outside Nanaimo, we kindly ask for a small fuel charge to cover our travel costs. For all non-school sessions, we suggest a donation towards our Cavalry Fund. The Cavalry Fund helps support veterans, first responders and service dog teams by providing resources, assistance and monetary funds to those in need. We also give back to Wounded Warriors Canada each year from this fund. These monies go towards raising, training and pairing service dogs with handlers who require their life-saving partnership. Your donation helps us continue helping those that have given so much for our country. All gave some, some gave all.
