Are your treats made with natural ingredients?
Yes! All our treats are made with high-quality, human grade natural ingredients - no artificial preservatives, colours or fillers. If we can’t pronounce it, we don’t use it. There are no hidden ingredients in any of our products.
Are your treats safe for puppies or senior dogs?
Yes! Our treats are formulated to be safe and gentle for dogs of all ages, but if you have concerns, please check with your veterinarian.
While the dehydrating process makes our treats hard, if your dog is lacking teeth or needs a softer treat, you can add a couple drops of water and let it sit for a minute or two, the treats will soften up to pre-dehydration form and be soft like a cookie.
How long are the Canine Cookies good for?
Our cookies are good for 1 year when stored properly. We bake low and slow, then dehydrate each batch to naturally preserve freshness without the need for preservatives. For best results, store the cookies in the bag provided and keep them in a cool, dry, dark place. Once opened, reseal the bag tightly. You can also freeze them for even longer shelf life — they’ll stay just as tasty for your pup!
What are the numbers on the bag?
Those numbers are our lot numbers, which help us track production dates and specific ingredient batches. If you ever have a concern or issue with a bag of cookies, please email us and include the number on the tag — it allows us to investigate quickly and ensure quality control.
Do you use Chicken?
No, we do not use chicken in our dog treats. Chicken is one of the most common allergens for dogs—studies show that approximately 10-15% of dogs with food allergies react to chicken protein. These allergies can cause symptoms such as itching, digestive issues, and skin inflammation. By avoiding chicken, we aim to create treats that are gentle and suitable for dogs with common sensitivities.

My dog can't have any animal proteins and is on a hydrolyzed protein diet. Do you have any treats that will suit this diet?
Yes!!! At Canine Cavalry, we specialize in alternative dietary options for dogs with sensitivities - because we believe all dogs should have access to high-quality treats. We offer plant-based, hypoallergenic treats that contain no animal proteins, dairy or common allergens. Our treats are made with wholesome, human-grade ingredients like: gluten-free oats, hemp hearts, flax seed, coconut, chia seeds, etc. All of our ingredients are listed with each treat. If your dog has specific dietary restrictions, feel free to reach out to us - we are always happy to help you find the best option!
I purchased a bandana, but it doesn't fit!
Our bandanas are lovingly sewn in-house and come in two sizes: Small and Large. The Small fits necks up to 16", and the Large fits necks up to 22". Thanks to the flexible design, the Small can also work for extra-small dogs, and the Large can be adjusted to fit medium-sized necks by looping the ends as if you're tying a bow, then snapping it closed instead. Comfortable, secure, and stylish — just the way your dog likes it!
Can I cancel my Subscription?
While we’d hate to see you go, yes — you can cancel your subscription at any time by emailing us. You’re always welcome to re-subscribe later, but please note that any coupon or promotional deal will expire when you cancel.
To avoid being charged for your next box, cancellation requests must be received at least 15 days before your individual billing date (the date you originally signed up).
Can I Pause my Subscription instead of Cancelling?
Yes, we offer subscription pauses! Just email us with your request, and we’ll hold your deliveries for the desired time.
When can I expect to receive my Treat Bundle?
Your payment will be processed monthly on the date you originally signed up. For example, if you subscribed on May 21, your future charges will occur on June 21, July 21, and so on.
Treat Bundles are typically packaged within 10 days of payment (often much faster!) and then shipped. Shipping times vary depending on the courier, as we use several.
If you selected local pick-up, your Treat Bundle will be ready within 10 business days, and you’ll receive an email when it’s available. Please refer to our market schedule to find a pick-up option near you.
Currently, pick-up is available in Nanaimo, Parksville (summer only), and Duncan/Lake Cowichan.
I live out of town, can my Treat Bundle be shipped?
Yes! We offer Canada-wide shipping for an additional fee. You can choose shipping or local pick-up during checkout. We offer flat-rate shipping, though we reserve the right to adjust this rate as needed to keep up with changing shipping costs. For more details, please visit our Shipping page.
If you choose local pick-up, we currently offer two year-round locations: Lake Cowichan and Nanaimo. During the summer, we also offer pick-up at the Summer by the Sea Market in Parksville, Nanaimo Commerical Street Market in Nanaimo, and Duncan Farmer’s Market in Duncan. When your order is ready, you’ll receive an email with pick-up instructions and the exact address.
If you normally pick up in one location but would like to switch to a different one, please email us in advance, as we only bring Treat Bundles to the markets where pick-up has been scheduled.
Do you offer Shipping outside of Canada?
At this time, we only ship within Canada. However, if you live in another country and are interested in purchasing or carrying our products wholesale, please reach out to us — we’d love to connect and explore options!
How Do I update my Shipping or Billing Information?
You can update your details anytime by logging into your account or contacting our support team.
I would like to order a Treat Bundle for a friend or relative, can I do this?
Yes!! We love sharing treats and cookies! If you would like it shipped to a different address than the billing address, please include this in the notes when checking out! Thanks for sharing!
Can I choose what is in my Treat Bundle?
We offer 6 different Treat Bundle options to make choosing easy and fun! While we can’t accommodate selecting specific flavours within each bundle, we do our best to accommodate allergies. Please be sure to let us know about any allergies your dog or cat has — including any human allergies that might be relevant — when you order, and we’ll carefully package your bundle accordingly.
